To anyone that understand Aching...
I have a new pain symptom that is called "Aching." Basically wondering if anyone aches and where my bones ache and doctor is at loss as to what can be done that could help stop my aching. Any ideas that may have worked from you just may help me. I would ![]() Just wondering... if you have this problem.. Any ideas? Thanks for reading this! ThaCrew

Have you tried massage? just getting someone to rub the areas where it hurts ( have I been slapped in the face for that line before ![]() but seriously massage the area and get the blood flowing around the joint or wherever the ache is before jumping right into the meds. just a thought

Have you been checked by a rhuematologist? He or she can determine if it's Fibro or some other kind of problem and get you started on a plan to help you feel better. I have chronic fatigue, fibro and a couple types of arthritis, so it might be one or maybe a couple things that are effecting you.

I have chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalia. I'm usually able to at least take the edge off the aching all over feeling with a hot bath. Gentle massage helps too. Anything that calms and soothes me helps. Nothing works completely but I am able to manage chronic pain. At least enough for day to day life, I'm not able to be employed.
Healthy distraction works as does trying to get plenty of sleep and to eat reasonably well. Reducing noise and light in my environment helps me cope too.

Plenty of others already said it, but soaking in the tub helps me. I found a mineral product caslled Batherapy that you add to the bath water that helps take the ache away. The benefit usually at least lasts overnight.
My job involves a lot of sitting. I found if I get up and move around every hour or so it helps. Based on a tip from a friend who also has fibro I went out and bought an electric throw. It's like an electric blanket, but a little smaller and you can wrap up in it. When all else fails I wrap myself up and crank the temp as high as it will go. |

If you can get your hands on it, get a memory foam topper and good support pillow(the kind with a wave in it for your head) for nighttime. This takes pressure off at night and you will sleep SO much better.
What i dont like is those hand held massagers that vibrate. I have a HoMedics one by Dr. Ho, and I cannot stand it. When I am sore it makes me WORSE and because with fibro you are more sensitive to things than someone else, it can be more irritating. Hot baths are a good one. Use epsom salts if you can. Lots of lavendar scents, its soothing! Another wonderful thing if you can get your hands on it is a moist heat pad. Massage therapists use it to loosen muscles before a massage. |

I was originally diagnosed with Fibro then found out years later I have Lyme disease. I ache all over especially deep in the bones and have this burning sensation in the muscles. I have to take an NSAID daily (voltaren) just to be able to walk. Muscle relaxers also seem to help more than narcotic pain killers do oddly enough (Flexril or Zanaflex). Also using an electric massager helps some.

Hi,
try a nice hot epsom salt bath. I also recommend evening primrose capsules and magnesium supplements. Exercise is important even though you have the pain - maybe try water aerobics. You might even want to try accupucture. Hope you feel better. ![]()

I have the most wonderful massage chair! I wish that I could take it to work. It would definitely help me make it through the day. It massages my head, neck back, hips,thighs, legs, feet, arms & hands. It has many different settings and you can create your own. I have to get up an hour early every morning to just get myself in a condition where I can get dressed to work. Some days I make it, but there are many days that I don't. I stretch before I get out of bed. I go to the massage chair and usually have to spend 30 minutes or more there. Then I get in the Hot tub. Then I shower. Now I can begin to get dressed. It is very painful and grueling but it does make a difference. I didn't say that I was pain free. I'm just able to move. Moving is very important for my "Psyche", my bills, my self esteem. I'm still grieving after all of these years of pain. I'm getting so close to having to make a change in my life. I'm a teacher so I am using the summer to try to live a proper FM schedule. I'm struggling with the pain and the loss of who I was.
