i've had chronic pain since last january. it started off in the middle of my back and ankles and knees but now it's spread everywhere (the pain i mean). when i exercise or anything it feels fine, minimal pain and all unless it's something that really aggravates the pain. i wanna get checked for fibromyalgia but my family doesn't want to because they think it's not a real disease. i dunno... it's gettin frutstrating though hurting all the time...not even tylenol works anymore. i'm almost desperate i don't know what to do. i can't afford to see the doc myself and my dad works in the same hospital where i go get checked at. argh

I would keep exercising and doing things that feel okay and which will help (how about hot showers?). It doesn't quite sound like fibro if you don't have pain when you're doing stuff.

Are you on any medications? Lots of medications and other conditions can cause aching. like you describe.

If your family doesn't "like" the word fibromyalgia, then don't use it :-) See if you can get them to agree to a regular, yearly physical (which everyone should get every few years) and then tell the doctor about your aches and pains and see what the doctor says.
