Hi everyone,

Just wanted to share a little tip with you all, if you don't already have one.
Yesterday, after a really nasty fibromyalgia flare up that lasted 2 days, I took the plunge and bought a walking stick.

I have wanted to get one for about 8 months, but I am 36 years old and did not think I deserved one as I know that most people only usually get a cane when they are dealing with seriuous degenerative diseases or arthritis. It is also associated with age. But after I brought that cane home, I realised it was the best thing I ever did. It takes a lot of pressure off my hips and legs which usually bear the most pain and I can walk around!

It cost me $30.00AU and it is adjustable for height. It even looks nice!

Just something to consider on the really bad days.

Take care everyone

Mics

Michah,

I am so glad that you decided to get the cane to help you with the pressure on your hips & legs. I believe that there is no reason to suffer because we feel we shouldn't do something or that we don't want to be seen. Our health & our well being needs to be the top priority.

It's interesting how when we finally break down & do something like that, we always wonder why we hadn't done it sooner because of all the huge difference it makes in our comfort.

Glad it's helping...hope others who may be feeling the same way will try your suggestion also.

Hope your feeling well will continue

Having a cane even if only there for the bad days is an ok thing. Its accepting our limits and looking out for our own health and fall prevention, nothing to be embarassed by...

(((((((((((MICHAH)))))))....deserve?all people deserve good. But if you feel you need to justify it...imagine how much less the pain will intrude on your ability to be there for others(smiles)....my mom had fibromyalgia...it is something that made her cry....and is no light diagnoses...she suffered so.I have prayed that you receive relief from this condition.I hope you get to feeling better
Thanks for this!
