I am hurting so bad right now. It seems like my whole back is in a knot. The spasms are so bad I can't lift my left arm very high. And my spine feels like it's crunching? that's the best way to describe the feeling when I move around. And I've been having the worst headaches. They make me nausous. It hurts like hell. I have tried evrything to make it stop. Baths, TENS, FLexeril. I am out of pain meds. I was supposed to go to my doc on the 2nd of this month but did'nt. I thought I could handel it. but I can't. Anyone ever use the Fentenoyl patch? I heard it don't make you high or addicted and it really helps pain in the mucsels. Is it nsaid cause I'm allergic to those.

Grrr. If it feels like it's spasmed, it probably is, you're right.

Have you tried ice massage to numb the pain and give the muscles a chance to relax? Sometimes this is the only thing I can do too. http://www.spine-health.com/treatmen...ck-pain-relief

Yes, Pain is really bad!

I am sorry your in pain though, no fun at all. Can you stretch. I have some serious pain and without stretching 2X a day I can't get up. Have you tried a heating pad, sometimes that will stop spasms as well as stretching.

I truly hope you feel better and actually I hope this helps but just knowing that your not alone in your pain when your here, hopefully helps.

I hope for your doctors appointment quickly like!

one more gentle hug , take care... Crew

Thanks you all. Jd, i tried ice. It made things ache. Crew, heat does help while I'm applying it. I tried stretching but I could'nt I felt like my body was'nt letting me. Sunday I fell in my yard and got a stress fracture on my hip sprained tendons in my knee and ankle. I went to the ER cause I thought I had dislocated my hip because it was hurting in my stomach but just a stress fracture. The ER doc was very nice and asked when I would be able to see my GP I told him Monday so he gave me 4 pain pills to take home. But my GP won't be in till Wendsday I took my last pain pill this morning. I think it is wearing off though. I have'nt been able to really move today. My hip hurts so bad I feel like I'm going to pass out. i guess I'll just go back to bed

Sorry to hear you're still suffering. Were you able to see your GP today? Hope.

Yeah, I know not everyone can use and benefit from ice. I'm glad both heat and ice help me. I really think it's the neuropathy that helps me use the ice though, since I no longer feel the burning on the way to numbing.

I know what it's like not to be able to stretch. I can only do so much. That's why I'm still going to the PT to be stretched 3x a week! If I don't go, I digress--my muscles begin to atrophy. Yet, going doesn't help me progress at all. MMI?

Hope you are enjoying tonight so much you don't come on to PC.

I remember fracturing my hip also on a fall off my horse. I laid there for several hours, not able to move at all. I went to the ER that night & they didn't see the fracture. It kept hurting so bad to walk it was the worst pain. Finally went to an orthopedic & they did a bone scan that showed the fracture...nothing they could do just had to heal on it's own but had to be careful not to stress the fracture.

To answer your question about the fentynal patches, I'm on them for my continuous migraine pain (never goes away). They are the best thing I have ever found for pain.... but they are for a chronic pain, not for something that can be fixed by surgery or some other treatment. It is usually a last resort when there is nothing that can fix the pain & all you can do is live with it. If there is a fix for your back as to why it's going into a spasm.....you may have a vitamine difficency or something other wrong with your back. I know that after I fell off a horse (another time than when I fractured my hip), then I ran my lawn tractor over several acres, for the next week, my back ended up with spasm's. Knew it would be gone soon, so that wasn't something to use the patches for (besides, I was on the patches for my migraine pain at the time anyway).

Any narcotic has the possibility of becoming addicted to it. I have been on the same really high dose since fall of 2002 & haven't even become tolerant or addicted to the dose. It has kept the pain away all that time, but I still get the migraine symptoms without the pain at times (really strange sensation). I can honestly say, it's a hard medication to get here in KY. Most Dr's aren't willing to prescribe it. I was on it from when I lived in California & had a difficult time finding a Dr that was willing to prescribe it to me. I finally found a pain specialist in Lexington that was willing to take me on as a patient & has been wonderful.....but that first year was tough.
