I have had several trigger point injections in both sides of my hips, & in my lower back/SI joint area & 2 separate sets of epidural injections into my left & right SI Joints. Has anyone tried these things & how did they work for you? Or did the help at all?? I have never had any spinal epidurals, those would be scary, but I have heard that they can hekp, but everyone is different. Iknow lots of injections are not good for your bones & joints, but I have always been willing to try anything for an ounce of pain relief!!! In the last year alone I have recieved 6 trigger point injections & 2 sets of epidurals into both sides of SI joints. I wonder if that is why my hips are worse now. My arthritis doctor says I have polyarthralgia with bilateral hip bursitis & sacroilitic joint dysfunction. That's ontop of all my degenerative discs throughout my spine, with 2 herniations in my neck & 2 herniations in my low back. Physical therapy was nice to go to for the motivation to do the excersises, PT made my neck worse and my second 6wks I didn't progress like I wanted to because the first 7wks landed me in a neck brace. Just curious of other stories of injections or PT. Does ant of it help you?

to this date no ESI, has helped. it's a hit and miss for people, no sure fire "yes this will work for you" statement will ever utter out of your doctors mouth when it comes to injections, and if it does they are a big fat liar!
![]() Lumbar Epidural. nerve blocks are pretty nice but doesn't take all the pain away, and doesn't last, but hey any pain gone even for a minute works for me. PT makes nothing better makes everything worse, in the long run it's sposed to help, i just can't get through the pain, if i could i would do it. i do water exercises not really called exercise more like just float there but hey butter than nothing, ![]() going in for a rhizotomy today so we shall see how that goes, if i can will be back on pc to write how it went. good luck on everything |

Hi
![]() I have spinal stenosis, extensive arthritis and nerve damage, several disc herniations, facet joint damage, sciatica and DDD. I was also willing to try almost anything to get some kind of relief. I am only 28 years old. I see a pain mgt doctor every month and he wants me to start PT and I am very hesitant as I can barely walk for 10 minutes or stand for more than 5. In the past when I've tried PT it's done nothing but make it worse. I am on round the clock pain meds as well as breakthrough meds and they barely scratch the surface. I'm terrified of ending up in a wheelchair in the near future. I'm sorry I'm rambling...I sympathize with living in chronic pain. I know it's different for everyone and I have heard some success stories as well. Good luck to you. -Jess

I have had every injection they can give and NONE of them helped me. If these injections don't work the FIRST TIME, do NOT let them give you anymore. The medical journals say that if they aren't successful the first time, they will NOT be successful after that. So don't let the doctor tell you that they have to "build up" in your system cause that's a lie. They just want the !,500 to 2,500 dollars they get for GIVING THEM.
![]() Also, epidural injections are steroids, and steroids are not good for the bones - it's ok to have ONE but if ONE doesn't work, don't get anymore. This stuff just adds to the odds of getting osteoporosis. I've done loads of research of this stuff, so I'm not talking out of my hat. Best of luck and I hope something works for you. God bless. Hugs, Lee ![]() |
