Alternative ways to control broken ankle pain

Anyone ever used cannabis oil to relieve pain?

::relief:: my nutty sister rubbed cannabis oil on the parts of my foot she could reach (toes, top of my foot etc). Not quite to my ankle, but boy does it help. I can move my toes, and stand up long enough to go to the bathroom using the crutches. I think the swelling is going down considerably, too.

Not sure what effect ice is having as the splint is so thick, but eh what the hell. I am trying to busy myself by writing, because painting is out of the question with my foot in an elevated non scream-inducing position.

I feel like I'm waiting for surgery expecting it to be better, but I think I will be disappointed and my pain is just beginning. I will need a lot more xanax in order to sleep through wearing a cast, lol.
