I'm using it for nerve pain in the legs, and I take it along with Opana. It works very well for me as long as I use it with Opana. Using it ALONE, it didn't work very well. But it does help with the nerve pain. It has made me a little "unsteady" on me feet. I can't say I'm dizzy cause I'm not, but I just feel very lop-sided if that makes sense. LOL It's like I'm always leaning to the right, and it throws me off. Strange. lol That didn't happen until I started taking the Lyrica.

Good luck with it. I hope it works for you. Keep us posted. Hugs, Lee

Thanks for responding Lee

I haven't started it yet, waiting for a day I don't have to drive to make sure it doesn't make me drowsy.

I don't have nerve pain I don't think. My pcp prescribed it but I am seeing my neurologist soon so I'll ask for his opinion as well.

I'm glad it works for you along with Opana. I havn't ever heard of Opana...

I have not taken it, but my ex husband has. The withdrawal was horrible. And, it did not help. He has pelvic pain.

I was given Lyrica after double knee replacement surgery. I didn't notice any gigantic help and it had a lot of side effects. Made me "out of it". Forget about driving or anything of that nature while taking it.

Lyrica I have been on for 3 years now. It is the ONLY thing that HAS worked for my nerve pain. If you don't have nerve damage then maybe the side effects are harder to deal with. I have lost weight on these pill and have NEVER has any side effects.
The question is,what are you willing to do to Stop the pain your having? IMOthere are not enough meds for my pain and at least having the nerve pain + Lyrica = totally works for me.

It always takes at least 5 weeks to get medication starting to work right. Maybe given 75mg of it may lessen side effects.

to anyone that tries cutting off the pain.

Tried it a couple of years ago and it really didn't help. I haven't found anything that works well against my back pain.

Just started taking Lyrica for fibro. I take just 75mg 3x a day. Starting out, you have to take lower doses and build up to the higher dosage. I'm sure my doc will increase the mg. but right now still having a lot of pain and migraines. I haven't noticed the side effects, just not feeling quite better yet.

I take Neurontin which is basically the same thing ( per my doctor) I get no relief from Fibro pain unfortunatly. I have tried Lyrica just for the hell of it.. didn't help me.

I hope you do get pain relief. Fibro is a ugly monster.

Good luck

I tried it once for fibro. Took one dose on Friday night and was high as a kite all weekend. Never took it again. My pdoc told me this is a common reaction to the med.

I took lyrica for fibro pain but I had an allergic reaction to it. I am very sensitive to meds anyway. Hope it works for you. I still have pain and can't find anything that works.

I take Lyrica for my Fibromyalgia and I love it. It works fantastic for me. Much better then gabapenten. I think you'll like it.

I was prescribed Lyrica post surgery and was on it a few months along with a cocktail of other meds. It was to help relieve the pain of the damaged nerve in my leg after my op. I think it was better when taken in conjunction to the other meds. However, six months later I am not on painkillers and I sure could do with some.

I am in a world of pain.

Lyrica has ruined my life. It wasnt bad enough with the pain from my back injury. I only took lyrica 2 weeks. The weight gain was bad. I loss 1/3 of my hair in 4 months. I have had a rash for over 1 year now. I mean a bad rash. This was my first side effect. And they warn you of this. Get off lyrica asap if you get a rash. I thought i was having a stroke the first week on lyrica when they rushed me to the hospital. I had read on the internet of how many young people have died from strokes from taking lyrica. My vision is so bad now. I can barely drive at night time and i have to were glasses to see the tv. The worst side effect ive had and still have is the terrible, terrible pain in all my joints. My knees are so bad and my hands and fingers & joints pound and throb 24-7. The swelling in my arms and hands was so bad at one time , i thought i would loose my limbs due to non circulation. The pain is so bad in knees, i can barely walk everyday. I am self employed and i type and write all day. My hands hurt so bad. I can barely hold anything in the mornings to pin my hair up or put on my makeup. As bad as my pain was and is in my back and cyatic nerve the lyrica did help. It was a miricle. But i only took it 2 weeks and after 1 year i still have all the terrible side effects. Ive been looking on the internet for other peoples bad reactions and i was told by my doctor and the hospital, i had a very bad reaction to it. Ive seen alot of people say they have never got rid of the knee pain and joint pain. Very scary. I called physier the drug company that makes lyrica. I told them the side effects that i was having and the first question they asked me was how was my eye sight. I had a fit. I told the the double viosion and blury vision was bad. They made the comment to me that physier was doing a study on this side effect. I was in an automobile accident, that was bad enough, but this drug lyrica has ruined my life and there is no cure. There is numerous law suits against this drug. I will never be the same again!
