This is my third day of a fibro flare up.I feel horrible and I have no strength in my body.I just joined today hoping to get some support my poor husband he doesn't have a clue as to how bad I feel. And I feel bad because he lost his mother to an illness and now he's around me and I'm ill. Just wish I knew why I felt like I haven't slept in a year and why my body hurts so bad all over.?for the first two days I thought I had the flu but then the symptoms didn't match up with what the flu is and then it hit me" here we go again"! so here I am on the couch because I'm so sick of the bedroom today. There's dishes in the sink that need to be done and cleaning that needs to take place and I can't do it so I have this overwhelming sense of Dredd because I can see my husbands frustration growing day by day. Can anyone help me does anyone know what will help? Thank you for reading this.

Sorry you are in so much pain. I haven't had any experience with fibro but have heard it is very dibilitating. Just want to let you know i was thinking about you. Maybe you could print out some information for your husband to read about fibro so he could understand better. You are sick and can only do so much so try not to be so hard on yourself.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar and Fibro/Chronic Fatigue at the same time in the mid-'90's.
I know what you are going through... It's been YEARS since I remember what it is like to feel good--both physically and mentally. Please know that I do understand. As for your dishes... they'll be there tomorrow. Rest. |

I was diagnosed with fibro two years ago now. I have found a few things that have helped get me out of the flare or keep them at bay a little at least. I was told to do exercises before getting out of bed. That does help me get out of bed at least. House work or any work, by doing something for 10 to 15 minutes only then resting for at least that long and keeping to that schedule does help but even with a timer I am too stuborn to stop in the middle and then pay for it. I also start the day with a warm water aerobics exercises. The combination of the stretching and the moving water seems to help a lot. My husband has read a bunch of the material I had received at a fibro chronic pain clinic and I just highlighted the key things for him. I am lpretty sure those are the only parts that he read but I think it helped. The chronic fatigue is almost worse for me than the hurting. Know that we are here to help and keep asking questions. We are all in this together.

I experience a lot of physical pain, fatigue, migraines, depression and other symptoms related to fibromyalgia (or at least from what I've researched online). I'm seeing a neurologist for the migraines, but I don't want to sound like I'm trying to diagnose myself, you know? How do doctors know if you have fibromyalgia and what is the usual treatment for it?
For those of you suffering from the pain I hope you feel better really soon! *hugs *

redbandit, it depends on the doctor. There are doctors who do not believe fibromyalgia exists and then there are doctors who use it as a last resort. I was diagnosed at 14 by having 12 of the 18 tender points in my body respond to pain when light pressure is pressed. This is a chronic illness so the pain has to be present for at least a couple of months. You would also feel general widespread pain throughout your body (and possibly other symptoms, I could write a book on all of my symptoms). Also, I had to be officially diagnosed by seeing a rheumatologist. I experience sharp nerve pain as a part of fibromyalgia as well. It shouldn't hurt to talk with your doctor about your symptoms, they could be fibromyalgia, something more serious, or nothing at all. Only your doctor will know, but if you are being constantly ignored you might want to get a second opinion.
