Wondering IF any one on PC has ever heard of PR (and / or) have it? - If YES, please talk to me about it.... Thx.
LoVe, Rhapsody - ![]() * * * * * * * * * Palindromic Rheumatism: PR is usually extreme pain/inflammation in the joints and or surrounding tissue area. You may get Inflammation (Inflammation includes Redness, A Swollen Joint and Heat in the affected area) with the affected joint or just pain, stiffness and numbness during a "Flare Up". PR can eventually turn into RA.... PR is on the "rare disease" list with the NIH for it only effects 200,000 (or less) people in the world and the cause of this autoimmune disorder is unknown. * * * * * * * * |

Hi.. I have not been dx'd with this but i have had these symptoms quite often. Mostly when I have been examined by the doctor.. liek the fibro doc and the SSDI doctor. .pulling my arms every which way to be sure I have pain...poking.. prodding..
I asked one rhuemy about it and she said oh. it probably wasn't arthritis...I know it hurts... and I do have the redness and such ...what can be done about it?Do you know?

YOU can get another opinion, for I have been dealing with PR, RA and FIBRO for ten years now and My Rheumy Doc is AWESOME!!! - he listens to me (about my woes) and he helps me with the pain through proper meds - 3 of them, shots, and medical treatment to ease the discomfort. My Rheumy Doc does what is needed to HELP ME LIVE the BEST LIFE I CAN. LoVe, Rhapsody - |

So do you take the trigger point therapy? shots? I have been to 2 different rhuemys. and one internist... none of them was very helpful or sympathetic to fibro... didn't listen well..
My gp has been pretty good to me though... and I am hoping to find another rheumy to go to..kinda limited here where i live.. thats one problem..but I am determined to feel better.i am way too young to feel so old and horrible all the time.

And.... YES, I do the shots for POP when and if needed, but over all I try not to go that route unless I honestly cannot move about, for I have been told by my Rheumy Doc that the shots can some times make the pain worse in the long run.... once the shots are stopped. But I am not against a shot every now and then - as I occasionally have to do. LoVe, Rhapsody - ((( hugs ))) |
