I got the validation I so needed today and again last week about the pain I am in. No, Doc couldn't do it but TWO different P.T.s have looked at me and have pinpointed within 5 minutes why and where the pain comes from. Yes, MRI. shows stuff but the actual pain is coming from x and they can help. I am relieved, less hopeless. I am also acutely aware that I am ALWAYS in pain. When I am asked about pain levels I have to stop and look at my body and then realize oh yeah, my back hurts here and my neck hurts there. I wasn't even aware or paying attention, I was functioning. Interesting that I can have pain at that level and not know until it gets unmanageable.

Good for you! Yes, I hate it when the PT is dissed because he's just a physical therapist

That's great!! To have someone say, yes, you are in pain, aren't you and then to be able to get help for it, is fantastic!!

wisewoman validation is very important. I cant count the number of times people have told me to just get over it, and it doesnt work like that. That, or the old "just deal with it" line.

Yes, the validation is great, so is the treatment. Sky will love this, she started me on the tennis balls today.

I'm so glad you got a moment to "relax" into some validation so you didn't have the continual added stress of holding yourself together against other people's doubt. I was watching a "scary" movie the other night and caught myself being anxious/"rigid" and forced myself to relax but had to do it over and over. Made me realize how much we do things automatically that takes so much energy/work.

Yes, you are so right, I have to really concentrate on relaxing muscles, they are normally very rigid and that is hard for me to realize and correct.
