I found out I have a large mass around 10cm in my abdomen on my left side. I had 2 ultrasounds in the last 2 months and it has grown. I have had pain with this for several months and BP has been extreme, but my doctors are concerned with my other health problems that I could die on the table having a heart defect and lung problems. I have been on a ventilator 4 times in the last year and a half. This sugery has to be done and I have to go on vent for a short time. But even a short time can be risky because i have COPD. I use a breathing machine at home.

I am trying to look at this more positively i just might lose alittle weight which i didnt after 2 open heart sugeries but who knows Feeling scared I can have people visiting me more often and someone might even make me chocolate chip cookies Feeling scared

Love you guys,
Leslie

(((hugs))) yes that is scary! You say in your abdomen, but is it really? They have laproscopic surgery available these days... and drugs that shrink tumors too... please get another opinion about your options?

I was told it is too big for that type of surgery. I had an ultrasound about a month and a half ago and again last week, it is growing fast

Thanks for caring and praying

I talked with a surgeon yesterday and I will have abdominal surgery as soon as my BP gets more controlled. The mass has grown over 10 cm now and BP is around 250/120 so I am being watched very carefully. I am still quite scared and not trying to be negative here but I am making arrangements if something does happen.

I was told the recovery period is quite long. I have asked some of my friends to help out so my son and boyfriend are not trying to do everything. I feel like a burden sometimes and want to just go away somewhere so people dont have to worry or have to do things for me. The simple things can be so hard when you are ill. I know you guys understand this well.
