I take Cymbalta for depression and fibromyalgia pain. It used to be extremely sedating for me, so I took it at bedtime. As of several months ago, it seems to have stopped making me feel sleepy at night. It may even be making it more difficult to fall asleep.
I'm dealing with the "delayed onset" sleep difficulties that often go with fibromyalgia. I was wondering if most of you take Cymbalta at night or in the morning and what effect you have seen on your sleep on on your pain control depending on when you take it. If you've had better results with Pristiq or Fetzima, I'd be interested to hear that, too. I've already done Effexor ER and had to stop it because of high blood pressure. Thanks! |

(((jt))) I've been on Cymbalta for many years. It did cause drowsiness initially but then I found I couldn't sleep at night, and had to be put on a sleeping pill at night and take the Cymbalta in the morning. I hope this helps. Be well!!!

I take Cymbalta in the morning. I also take it for depression and chronic pain. If I have troubles sleeping after a few nights, I will take Trazodone.

I take it at night along with Trazodone.
I think Pristiq and Effexor are chemically related. Neither one worked for me. I hope you feel better soon, with good sleep and less pain. ![]() |

Hello, just wanted to say that I also take Cymbalta in the morning along with Effexor and Gabapentin. I used to take it at night as well but developed insomnia. I take it for depression and Fibromyalgia.

Thanks, Butterfly. I'm curious why you take both Cymbalta and Effexor? Since they're both in the same antidepressant family, I mean. Just wondering if I'm missing out on a trick.
