So my mom and all of my siblings have fibro. I'm concerned, along with my mom, that it's springing up in me as well.

Just going to get a few groceries lands me in pain, sometimes for days to where just moving to go to the bathroom hurts. My muscles ache and I'm tired and just want to sleep. Does that sound like fibro? What causes it to "show itself"?

And how would I get my doctor to take it seriously? I was told there are no actual tests to take for it, more of a weeding things out by process of elimination.

Thank you.

Hi,

What you heard is true. There is not a test that you can take that says you have fibro. what about seeing the doctor your mom has and your siblings? Since the doctor already knows your family history he or she might listen to you?

Also I would keep a note book of all your symptoms. When they come, how long they last and any questions you want to ask the doctor.

We also have a fibro support group here. You should check it out sometime.

Good luck.
