I had surgery 8 weeks ago for a torn Labrum and impingement in my left hip.

I had been in pain for 9 months before that, and was assured surgery would be the best course of treatment.

* weeks later, I am trying, not so successfully a lot of the time, to cope with the pain I feel, everyday.

PT twice a week helps, but only so much.

I don't know what to do anymore. I can't handle constant pain all the time anymore!

I had hip surgery 4 yrs. ago and it takes time to heal. I remember I was still in pain 3 months post op, but I did have pain meds.
It's normal to still be in pain, do you any pain medication?

I'm now 10 weeks post-op.
I am FAR FAR behind where my recovery should be.
I'm really struggling with the continued constant pain.
I can't spend my day taking narcotic pain meds, and regular ones don't touch it

I haven't had anything as dramatic as what you've had done but I triggered tendonitis in my hips/buttocks from doing some exercises, and for many weeks now I hurt so much at night I can't stay asleep. I take 800 mg Motrin or Aleve and at bedtime and neither one makes a difference. I have been to the doctor for so many other reasons lately, I'm afraid they're going to think I'm a hypochondriac if I bring this up, but I am so mentally fatigued from the pain...I can just imagine how much worse it would be to go through what you are post-surgery.

Chronic pain is very wearing. I wish you peace.
