I take Tramadol and Vicodin and just found out that my bladder problems are caused by them. I have urine retention and can't feel myself pee.

Of course, they also cause constipation, which makes retention worse.

I'm thinking of trying to wean off of them. But what other medication works?

Trav I also take pain meds to deal with my lupus and other dx. I have talked to my doctor about this and she said to take a stool softener ever night and if that does not help she will prescribe a stool softener from the pharmacy hospital grade.

Good luck I feel your pain

I take the opiates for spinal pain and fibro. I also take Cymbalta.

Anyone else have this problem?

I take Percocet for chronic back pain, and I take Cymbalta for Depression, and I take Lyrica for Diabetic peripheral neuropathy. I have chronic constipation, probably as a result of the Percocet, and as a Diabetic I pee constantly. I don't know what the answer is.
Thanks for this!
