I have been dealing with chronic pain, fatigue, swelling, IBS, among other symptoms. This has been going on for 3 years and I am now becoming antisocial because I just don't have the energy to socialize.

I don't want to feel this way anymore and dont like the person I've become. I was always outgoing and happy now I just want to be left alone.

Any suggestions???

Hello Jld: I'm sorry you are struggling with these difficult conditions. I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

By the way, PsychCentral has a sister website: "NeuroTalk" which you might find to be of interest since you have a number of physiological / medical conditions you're struggling with. Take a look at the forums on NT as well:

https://www.neurotalk.org/

You might also take a look at this website:

https://mindsetdoc.wordpress.com/201...e-abiding-101/

It is a mental-health-oriented description of a practice called "compassionate abiding". Perhaps it can be of some benefit.

I'm struggling with some of your issues as well. I've had undiagnosed chronic head pain for 3 years that is 24/7. It is thought to be related to my depression.
When I'm at my worst, the only thing that helps is music. Try blasting your favorite song and see what that does for you.
Traditional meds have done nothing in my case.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
