My pain therapist found this:

www.health.msn.com type in "oxycontin" and then select the article : The Truth about Pain Killers.

(The url was too long, and wouldn't come up even with tinyurl.com New Pain study disproves myths ) So this is the easiest way.

I urge everyone who deals with chronic pain to read this, and be encouraged and armed for battle with any MD who believes the myths of pain killers for the chronic pain patient. New Pain study disproves myths

I've given DocJohn the link too, so maybe soon we'll have something right here through PC to read about it, and not have to go fishing through the articles at MSN New Pain study disproves myths

thanks! I think it's great that finally someone has put the wheels on what many decent, knowledgeable doctors have been trying to tell everyone for years! (I plan to copy it at some point and take to my MD who refuses to give me the amount of painkiller she says I need, until I quit driving. New Pain study disproves myths)

I can't imagine needing opiods for chronic pain and having to get a doctor to agree, etc. I needed it last summer and got it, no problem (and still have some) and didn't recognize any problems at all with its use.

I now have a pain managment contract, but without one at my age-32...doctors don't like to write scripts for opiods even when it is clear and concise that they are need'd

No, they don't (MDs don't like to write scripts for opiods) but they'll whip out a few scripts for methadone (which is just as addictive New Pain study disproves myths) just because IN THEIR MIND it doesn't carry the stigma. New Pain study disproves myths No, it doesn't carry the stigma that you need pain meds for chronic pain, it carries the stigma that you're a drug addict!!!! New Pain study disproves myths
