I really thought I would be through the healing process at this point. Foot doctor keeps saying my feet look great, but they sure don't feel great. Makes me want to cry.

Grrr isn't this the same doctor that messed your feet up first? Oh, I could be wrong, did you change doctors? ANYWAY, bebop is right... you demand pain control help...it's the LAW now, you know? Tell him you aren't required to put up with this pain!

Thanks, Bee and Sky!

This is my third podiatrist, and he came highly recommended.

I might be able to get up and dance for a little while.

Doctor prescribed pain meds. The nurse said it could be scar tissue causing the pain. Husband picked up the meds for me today, and I think my feet are feeling better already.

I would suggest consulting with an orthopedic doctor / surgeon (MD/DO).

EJ, I'm sorry I didn't also say that I wish you didn't have to deal with this pain and I hope that you get some comforting relief soon. Foot pain is continuing and excruciating

Hi, I am new to this site. I had severe foot pain until a few weeks ago. I ruptured my right Achilles tendon 4 years ago and had surgery to repair it. The podiatrist moved some of the tendons and ligaments around to strengthen my tendon. The result was that I ended up with nerve entrapment. It is called tarsal tunnel syndrome just like carpal tunnel in the wrist. I had nerve decompression surgery to take pressure off the tarsal nerve. The surgery failed and I was in worse pain. I went from doctor to doctor trying to get help with my foot pain. Standing on it would kill me. Finally, a new pain management doctor recommended that I get a SCS (spinal cord stimulator). It's like an internal TENS unit. I got mine two weeks ago and my pain has decreased 50%. With time, they say I can expect even more relief. You might want to discuss this with your pain doctor. What caused your foot pain? What have you tried?

Choose to be Happy,

What a great username, and always a great reminder!

The initial foot surgery on my left foot in July 2005 was to correct three hammer toes. It was poorly done, and left me with a neuroma, which was removed July 2006. In the summer of 2007 I was laid up, due to a St. Bernard my husband insisted on rescuing (we already had two, plus a Great Dane) breaking my right ankle.

At the end of May this year (2008), new foot doctor corrected two mallet toes on left foot, and removed neuroma and ingrown toenail on my right foot. I'm still having post-op pain.

Sky,

I was dancing in place to some cool music the other night.

Hello Everybody:

I too suffer with Horrible foot pain, but its only in my left foot. I have had several shots over the years, which seem to make it worse. My poditrist just rubs an ointment called Banalog on it and wraps it for me and THATS ALL HE DOES!

I am in such chronic pain that I feel disabled. I also suffer severe depression. Its hard when you know you must go get exercise, but how can one when you have such severe pain in ones foot. I know I have one leg which is shorter than the other and no one seems to correct that either. I've even told my Orthopedic Surgeon and he didn't say anything. I walk with a noticable limp and cannot even walk well unless I push a shoping cart. (that helps only a little)

Its depressing every time I try and go for a walk on my own around my own neighborhood or the park or the shopping mall, as I just can't stand on my own for more than an hour and then my pain gets WORSE! I feel doomed!!!!!

Went and had a shot today in my foot! Then the doctor wrapped it tight..like a mini cast! I must say I at least feel better. Not 100% but at least 20% better!

I think the heavy padding (wrap) really helped as well, but of course I can't go around with this on all the time!

Oh well, just wanted to put this out here!
