So today I was walking in the kitchen in my bare feet, and I've been kind of unsteady on my feet lately because of my back. Didn't my foot hit a patch of water and went out from under me.

Well i managed to fairly frig myself up. My muscles are torn on the right side from my sacrum right up and down that leg and the sciatica is flaring up now. The doc said I might have a pinched nerve possibly too from the compression in.. I Think he said L4 and L5, which are areas on the spine.

Yay for me.

I want a medal for doing such a good job of messing myself up! LOL

Im sorry sweetie. If this makes you feel any better, back at the end of July I got up to get a drink, as was going back into the kitchen to get one to take back to bed, my right leg spasmed and I went down. Not sure how did it but ended up with total dislocation on both sides of my left ankle, broke the fibula in 3 spots and the tib in two. 9 pins and a plate later +the RSD, not a good combo
So think of it this way, It could have been a lot worse!!!!

Blessed Be
Deb

RSD is a disease I suffer from, it is NOT whom I am!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohhh gosh Bowzz... I cringed when I saw this. I am the Queen of falling. I kid you not. If there is a place to do it , I'm there. There is at least 2x's a winter when i slip and fall on the ice outside my back door. And if the steps to the basement get wet.. well I find a way of falling down them too. Heck I've even fallen off my computer chair lolol. I know how the sore butt and back feel. Get some ice on it for a bit for the swelling and pain if you can then do heat to help with relaxing the muscles. I hope you start to feel better sooner than later.

Bowzz! How are you managing???

"

Who is taking care of the baby??? Torn muscles are so serious, and you must be in such pain (or on so much pain killer) and you can't possibly be functioning at all. Do you have someone help you get in and out of bed? Oh my! This will take a very long time to rehab too. Yes, L4-L5 is the weakest part of the spine, at the sacrum, and once injured it takes really hard work and professional care to rehab that too.
Let PC know how you are doing! Sorry I just found this thread, so late.

I am managing, but I am sore. Mom is here helping me with baby.

Torn was the wrong word, i guess, pulled would be more accurate according to the doctor.

He did say I have to try not to do anything strenuous until the physio starts.

Sorry to worry you all, i used the wrong word. It still stinks and is no fun however.

Most of the time pulls or strains are worse than torn or broken. They tend to take longer to heal.

I hope you start to feel better. And am glad you have someone to help you with the wee one.
