I had the worst back spasms last night. They kept me up until 5am. They were so bad that today, my muscles feel bruised. Im tired and in pain. My doc wont give me anything for it. Im just stuck I guess. Stuck dealing with it. To top it off, I have an earache and sore throat and the locusts are driving me kinda crazy :-/

I know back spasms all to well. Whats causing your back to spasm like that? I get them every night and the cause of mine are due to 3 hip replacements (2 on the right and 1 on the left), I had lower back fusion and the 2 disks above my fusion are buldging and just breaking down which will require another back fusion. My spasms started out slow and I would only get a few hours sleep but it has become "normal" for me to be awake for 48-72hrs straight because of them. I found that sleeping sitting up (in a chair or couch) still makes my back spasm but not as bad and I wake up the next day not stiff as a board. Moist heat use to work for me (it might for you), I would put moist heat on my lower back for a hour before bed and it would calm things down a bit. I hope you feel better and are able to get some sleep tonight!

I have heard salt baths help as well. I have spasms big time too. I hope yours are only for a short duration, could be a problem with diet or minerals, may want to see your doc.
