Is Memorial Day a Hardware sale?
A good price on a garden pail ?

Did my buddies give their limbs, lives, and sinew

For chicken, stakes, and barbecue ?

For The Coward to place a wreath on sacred ground,

While my comrades are crippled and wheelchair bound

Did my buddies die in that living green hell.

For endless rows of cars to sell ?

For drunks, accidents and long traffic jams,

Did my buddies perish in Vietnam .

So while young men drool over the Memorial Day Queen

I ll remember my buddies -The Living,The Dead and The In - Between.

The way we treat Memorial Day is criminal. We should just ban it altogether until somebody, somewhere can be leader enough to get this back on track.

At least the uncaring media pauses to show the rows and rows of head stones in Arlington. How in the world can they show the courage, bravery, distinguished service, and grief that is associated with these and the many other headstones all over the world.

Many thoughts and prayers have gone out from me today and always for those who have given their all for our freedoms. How priviledged we are to have such wonderful and brave men and women who walked the walk and still do for our lives. I shall never forget...............................................................................

I tryed all day yesterday to pretend it was not Memorial day
My father in law was a ww11 vet
I was very close to him at the end
May he rest in peace

My best freinds daughter lost her husband in Iraq
may he rest in peace

To me its not a day to party or get drunk imo
its a very sad day indeed for alot.............

Since our closest family is all gone
as I have said before all in 7 years
My kids and i just look at each other and think
should our picnic be where they rest...........

Many tears lost with our family
Memorial day to me is to remember.......
