I just read a reference to my appearance after returning from combat ... and it made me want to cry. Even as i type this I'm having to hold back the tears and the little panic sensation i feel in my chest and stomach.
This is a common reaction when I hear of others returning from combat or reunion with family. Is it PTSD or just an emotional reaction to old memories? All I know for sure is that it's a pretty strong reaction to something that happened so long ago. T. |

maybe a little of both hon. hon don't try to hold back those tears. I think when one tries so hard to hold back it stops the healing. you have to let those emotions out. it is ok to cry. you guys were treated so differently from any other war soldiers returning home. I am sure that makes you feel hurt and angry. I know it makes me both for you.

hon let me tell you something. crying is cleansing! let it out! one thing in my life I have learned....your age group of men were taught not to cry, that is shows weakness. IT DOES NOT. to me it shows more that you are human, with real feelings.
