Doc John Admin someone please help
I would really like to go to the chat rooms but it says "Authentication failed" what does this mean is there a reason I am not allowed to go?

yea I havlatest java and all settings are right on computer
for it so yea not sure whats up here

Coming in a little late...
~~dusty~~ ... have you been able to access chat before this? On whatever computer you've used before? Has anything changed on your computer - anything at all - have you downloaded something new, removed a program, anything like that?? I think I've come across the "Authentication Failed" before... I think it's something about the server timing out - so you can't get in. It may have nothing to do with your account or computer. My suggestion is to reboot your computer, and try again to access chat. Sometimes that works for me.

Authentication failed.
  I have all the latest stuff have had all my settings checked the only thing I can think of is I am simply not allowed to go so yea if I did something wrong would someone simply tell me that this is making me paranoid and upset and well yea

Dusty, from what I know from being here, admin would not have just nixed you from chat...you would have been warned and advised...and since Christina doesn't know of it, that's probably not a problem. (You would have at least a PM in your box somewhere of the discussion I would think.)
I still don't know if I can help you figure this out (I'm nobody here.) But... there used to be a place in your personal options and stuff to delete the cookies. You might do that, wipe it clean as maybe it has stored erroneous data???? It will dump you out of course, but the good cookies will reload when you come back in. Ok... what browser are you using? IE, Mozilla ...??? what Sorry, I just checked back...can't find any place to clear cookies...must be different for this newer program. I'll keep looking around.Dusty, it really REALLY sounds like a firewall to me. Maybe you have more than one browser loaded on your computer, or maybe your firewall on your computer is still up though your virus program might be allowing it?

I am wondering I just remembered I use
to go to another site and these ~~ would not let me into the rooms is it possible that is what is happening here ??

Now that's an interesting thought. Only the webmaster himself might know that. You can ask for a screen name change (such as underline like I have, or remove them altogether) and see if it does the trick... then the whole site would know for future (or DocJohn might warn or prevent new members from using the tild.)
I think you're onto it there though...as whenever I've seen you on, you're always listed at the end of the who's online listing, and in the Member's List, you are there, again, last in the #s and _s list.

That really is an interesting thought... ~~ are pretty but a pain if they won't let you into chat!! I'm sorry I wasn't able to help you out, but if you'd like a name change or to perhaps ask DocJohn for assistance (since he does know more about this site setup stuff than I do!!) you can send him a PM - it's just "DocJohn".
