just signed up at the answers section of psychcentral, and have come across some really upsetting responses (people ridiculing those who are expressing suicidal thoughts).
i tried to look around and see if there were any guidelines or modertators, but couldn't find anything myself. does anyone know if there are any rules that govern the types of questions that can get asked and/or rules about content in answers? or if i can somehow report posts to a moderator? thank you ![]() |

Clyde is the moderator for the 'Answers.' You can PM him, I'm sure he would appreciate that.

Clyde and Edahn are bother moderators in Psych Central Answers (Q&A) and can help you with any inappropriate answers you may find. You can also vote such answers down by using the "Rate answer" feature and click on the negative button.

Hi Deliquesce,
I'm also a regular answerer at Q&A and I answered that particular question that you're talking about. Virtually anyone can answer questions there, but there are regular answers like Edahn and Clyde as well. Originally the poster was making a statement regarding frustrations over peoples lack of education about bipolar disorder and how he/she's even been asked if it's contagous. Some (not regular) answerers started getting off topic and branching out into their opinions about suicide posters, which I agree was not nice. When I saw your response I then clarified that not all people believe the same thing and that we usually take suicide posts very seriously and handle them with great care. I don't think the poster himself meant it to get out of hand. The best way to handle inappropriate comments is to express your concerns to Clyde, Edahn or Doc John himself or do what you did and write a very eloquent post like you did - a person can also vote for or against an answer. Thank you for doing that, Lynn P.(Bellacutie)

Howdy there
![]() As well as with Answers being a little less stringent when it comes to the guidelines. We have removed people from the site for such things as advertising and for posting really mean, neglectful things as well as hurtful things. If it is the same post I am thinking of, Bella, myself and Edahn all three mentioned that we wanted to make sure that everyone was not being put "into one box" and would not be diagnosed as such. ![]() Best, Clyde
