all this is new to me. i don't understand the vocabulary....it looks like english.... but i'm lost in threads, posts, messages.... is there a way to figure out what those things are and how to use them so i can get to where i want to go? i think i've posted threads but i can't find them in the forums. are they being considered, or were they rejected? how do i find out?

Post = Message.
Series of messages and replies on one topic = Thread. You can post messages in a public forum, or send as Private Messages. The ones in a forum are public; Private Messages are only to the people you send them to, not public.

I think that you will learn your way around with a little time and practice
Post here when you run into stumbling blocks or if you have a question and there are many who will be glad to respond to you. Also you may find reading the FAQ helpful and informative. Welcome to PC!
