Hi, I don't know if someone can help me. I've tried to get into the chronic pain chat a few times. For some reason it won't let me in and I can't figure out why. I've tried what everyone has told me to do but nothing helps. I'd appreciate any advice or help. Thank you!

Hi phipps... Please post your operating system and the web browser you are using to access the site. Also, what kind of internet connection are you using -- dial-up, broadband (like cable or FIOS), or satellite.

Hi Dr John, I'm using Vista, Internet Explorer and it's satellite. I've also tried getting into chat from my blackberry cellphone which is running IE also. I can't get into any chats at all. If you could help me I'd really appreciate it. Thank you for trying to help me!

Sadly, there's a known issue with being able to access chat via satellite. The satellite provider appears to be blocking or firewalling a port needed by chat in order to use it. We have a number of users in the same boat as you, but there's no easy answer at this time.

I don't think most mobile platforms support the necessary javascript/ajax stuff that chat uses. Mobile platforms may also have issues with the port thing.

Sorry!

DocJohn

Thank you for letting me know so I don't keep bothering everyone. Hopefully we will have DSL soon. I appreciate you taking your time to answer my question.

In the meantime you might want to use a computer from the library. I access chat from there just fine. good luck!
