Another year has passed and even though I was told a year ago that the birthday cake icon did show on a member's birthday, I still don't see them.
I used to catch other's birthdays well because I'd see that icon on posts.  Where'd my cake go?

Perhaps your birth date on your profile isn't completely filled in? You need to have the month, date and year filled in in order for the system to correctly recognize your birthday. Sorry, that's just the way it is.
