Just wondering...for the the past two day when I have been on this site, I have been notified by my anti-virus software a few times that it's blocking an intrusion attempt. Anyone else have this happen?

No, not to me. But it could be another one of those annoying block pop ups.
Any way are you using internert expolar or fire fox as your web browser?
If you already ave a virus scanner like AVG then just to a scan to check you haven't got a virus.

Hiya Miss Posey Virus Intrusion?

Tina asked the same question a few weeks ago. See if this thread helps. I'm glad you posted because it might be a problem again, or a new problem. I'm so glad you are on top of these things. Virus Intrusion?

Virus?

Now that you mention it good-buddy...

I was reading a lot from the resource directory yesterday, and had at least a half-dozen blocked attempts at trojan horse attempts. I was feeling really-really-really desperate and was there throughout the day reading some things about "the subject"...and kept getting interrupted.

Maybe it's done for a reason. Virus Intrusion?

Hmmm.

lol...they say everything happens for a reason. Virus Intrusion?

I would run your virus software just to be safe...then I would attribute it to the ads unless John tells you otherwise.

Good luck Ms. Petunia. Virus Intrusion?

I don't think you get the pop up, if you use fire fox web browser though?

All software is imperfect. In terms of anti-virus software or anti-spyware software, sometimes it will report a problem when no actual problem exists (this is called a "false positive"). Psych Central has no viruses and has no ads that link to virus websites.

In the resource directory, occasionally a resource we link to may have been taken over by another website that is no longer related to the original resource we reviewed when it was added to the directory. If you come across something like this, drop me an email to let me know and it will be removed immediately.

Otherwise, drop an email to your virus software provider to let them know you're receiving these false positives so they may correct it in future versions of their software.

go figure. I get automated updates so it didn't bother me. even though I was in a switch from norton to mcafee.

Zotob is transferred from Windows machines to Windows machines. Our servers do not use Windows software (for just this reason!), so it's more likely you received the virus from an email, from visiting another site, or simply by being online.

By keeping your Windows update automated and always-on, you should automatically receive security patches that help prevent viruses like this from infecting your machine.

Thanks for the warning I have my windows set for automatically updating the software. Hopefully that will keep intruders out. I will run a virus scan...as well.
