Hi. When I try to get into chat, I get the following error:
Sorry, you either need to be logged in order to use the chat system, or you have been restricted from using the chat rooms.You must have more than 5 posts before you can use the chat system. I have posted more than 5 times and I am indeed logged in. So how do I enter chat? Thanks for any help you can provide! |

Me again. I just tried to get in again and finally got in! Don't know what the problem was.

Sometimes the servers need time to synch up with the number of posts that you have and allowing you into chat. Glad you made it in finally!

Just wanted to say I can't get in myself. Chat drives me nuts. Seems like I can't log in to it anymore for some reason. It never loads past a gray screen and a box for me most of the time anymore. I've had issues with it not loading off and on for a long time. I am ready to quit trying.

Are either of you on a satellite internet connection? If so, that is probably what the problem is. For some reason or another the satellite systems seem to block the 8080 port. I have the same issue. I keep a very low cost dialup connection for times when I need to access chat. It stinks but it works.

I'm not on satellite or anything like that. I even went through the steps to make sure port 8080 wasn't blocked by windows firewall. The chat page seems to open quickly but doesn't make it past the grey-purpleish screen. along the bottom status bar all i get is "stopped". I just made it to more than 5 posts today and am no longer having a problem getting to the "Enter Chat Now" screen. But beyond that no luck..
Any ideas would be great. any ideas? |

me too.. I can access chat at home, but apparently not using my school's computers.
