I'm not sure if this is in the right section, so if it isn't then I apologise.
This isn't really anything important, but I was just thinking..is it possible we could update the chat part of the site? And by that I mean add new colours for text, (there isnt even a red, and i like writing in red  ) add new smilies etc, and maybe make the room names more interesting..This is because it seems rather old fashioned in 2010. just an idea!

Well hello and welcome to PC. Actually, the chat room has been updated several times in the last few years.
 Though I like the one over at neurotalk better, this one is good for us here, imo.I'm not a mod or nothing, so don't worry about my opinion.  There are 16 colors, and yes, one is a burgandy red. I do have a problem with red font, especially when it scrolls with blue (which many use here.) Red font causes migraines and can also cause seizures in susceptible people (of which we do have a few here.) When it scrolls like in a fast chat, it's mind boggling for me. We used to have other smileys, some which were really bad like poop and a handgun, so the ones we have are pretty good considering.  Give it a chance to grow on you? The room names are basics. But you can make your own chat room and call it what you think is more exciting I guess. You can even make it a private chat room that is passworded. The auditorium is left pretty much for hosted chats, like DocJohn's twice a week. TTYL!

just one thing that maybe could be improved is for firefox browser users: my font cause all over the place. i have it set as bold green and then it goes to... not bold or black and bold or sometimes it has those font text around it... not very important but it would be nice if my font would stay the same the whole chat!

I use mozilla as well, and have noticed the changes in not only color, but boldness etc. I never thought to blame firefox for this. I will ask others when it occurs with them, what browser they are using.

The chat system we've chosen here is one that is accessible by most users, because it does not rely on any third-party software (such as Java, Flash, etc.). Since we want to have a chat room that most anyone can use, it may be a little "plain" but it is new. This version of the software was released in 2009 and is updated regularly.

Colours, I wonder if it's a java script setting mozilla has that causes issues? (Is that possible, IDK
 ) I know I disabled it on my iPhone and then I could view images here... ...going to go play with my java settings for here. Maybe I can play the rest of the games that won't load for me again then.
