you know, when your thread is marked with that liitle red circle with the black x in it. what does that mean?

It means the thread might be discussing a subject(s) that is commonly frightening or traumatic to many readers, something that might remind someone of a really bad place in their life they may not have worked through yet.

I am new and still figuring out how to navigate this site. Thanks for the definition of trigger. I recognize certain things are triggers for me but am not sure how to deal with them. Is there a good general overview of trigges and understanding and dealing with them?

Hi ICK, welcome to PC.
I found this article that might interest you regarding triggers, http://www.johncflanaganlcsw.com/articles/Triggers.htm You can also click on the Resources button on top of your screen and do a search regarding triggers on the Psych Central site. I hope this has been helpful to you. |
