ok here is the deal. got a 3 yr old in my house that messed with my computer today while I was gone. I had left it on since I wouldn't be gone long. the color to the underlined words is now orange! I have no idea how to change it back. it isn't just here on pc but all websites. anyone know how to change it?

If the change turns out to extend beyond your browser, you'd want to look for something like My Computer > Control Panel > Display. Again, the way to it might be different with newer versions of Windows than mine. Good luck, bebop, and let me know how this works for you. ![]() |

Are only misspelled words underlined? Click on the spell checker if so.
If that doesn't solve it, it could be a virus/hijacker or something. Run free ad aware and see if that removes it. If you run your cursor over it and get a window, then it could be linked to other sites/ads etc.

Sorry, I tried looking in my Internet Explorer but not only is it (most likely) a lot older than yours -- it also keeps crashing on me! I guess that could be because it doesn't like having this Firefox running at the same time, for some reason. I remember using an even older IE at the same time as Netscape and having no problem.
In the Windows versions that I'm used to, Windows Help is halfway useless. Still, it's occasionally pointed me in the right direction or told me the right name of something. Yours is no doubt newer and may be better. What about giving it a try? Maybe start by searching under terms like "appearance," "fonts," "colors," and "links". IE is supposed to be an integral part of Windows so I'd think Windows help would cover it. You might check, though, if the Help link in IE turns up the same help system or a different one. ----------------------- eta: I closed Firefox and did get into IE successfully this time. Tools > Internet Options > General (tab) Under the "Home page", "Temporary Internet files" and "History" boxes I find a button for Colors. It offers color selectors for links, "Visited" and "Unvisited". You almost certainly have one too (somewhere! ![]() Last edited by FooZe; Apr 21, 2011 at 04:27 AM. |
