Is there anyway a thread can be re-instated after it has been deleted? I asked for a thread to be deleted about 4 weeks ago, and would like to get it back as someone posted something which I would like to show my T
Thanks

showing your T what someone else posted here if I remember the rules right isnt allowed without asking that person who posted for permission to do so. but maybe you can paraphrase what you do remember and ask your therapist for clarification on that topic and tell them how that topic applies to you. I'm a therapist and personally I would rather hear from the client what the clients impressions are of what they find online and how they think it applied to them rather than waste that clients valuable therapy time read someone elses postings. since you know what the thread was and what posting you want to show your therapist maybe you can write about that in your journal and show your therapist your journal. therapists love reading clients journals. it shows the therapist where the clients mind is at, any problems the client is having and possible topics to cover during therapy. ![]() |

![]() This would make NO sense as this is a public forum and anyone, including our therapists, can come and read what is posted here. |

All users, visitors and members who access this forum agree not to copy and paste, quote, print-out, distribute, or otherwise use a member's postings or other contributions to the community on another website, blog, or service (including Psych Central's free user blogs) without first obtaining the expressed written consent and permission of the author to do so via a PM or email." Im assuming that also means we cant take things from here to therapy and show them to our therapists. the original post in this thread says the poster would like to know if theres a way to reinstall deleted threads because they wanted to show it to their therapist. byt I posted about this rule - before - the poster told me they were not going to be taking the whole thread with other peoples posts to their therapist, then when they saw I posted about the rule they clarified for me their intentions and I thanked them for it. |

I would think that once you ask for it to be deleted it is gone, but don't know for sure. My T was concerned about me coming here because I was triggered really bad in chat. I had started a thread about what was going on, and received some great supportive feedback from others here. I printed out some of the replies and showed them to my T. When she saw how supportive others were, she was ok with me coming here. This is a great place to give and receive feedback on life situations. Sometimes what is written really makes us take a step back and look at the situation from another point of view.

We handle these issues on a case by case basis, just FYI. The member who made the original request has been PMed about this issue.
You can take your own posts and do with them whatever you please. You just can't take and use other people's posts, even if they're in one of your threads. Obviously we can't police what someone does with a print-out, but we do ask that members respect other members' rights in this matter. Best, DocJohn

DocJohn,
So technically, we can't share others' posts with our therapists? I thought that the rule above referred to publishing on "another website, blog, or service"? Just trying to understand. Last edited by Anonymous29412; Jun 19, 2011 at 09:29 AM. |
