When I show up I check the "New Posts" button to see what went on since my last visit. Everything shows up regardless of where it is in the forums, as long as it is more recent than my last visit. I'm fairly sure that I clicked male in my profile but I also find results from "Women-Focused Support" in the "New Posts" list. Sometimes I find myself reading a thread and thinking of responding, so I try to make sure that I am not somewhere I'm not supposed to be first. Would it be possible, though, to just have the results not appear in the first place?

On your Edit Options page, accessible either from this link or from the "My Profile" and "Quick Links" buttons at the top of the page, there's a box at the bottom titled "Forums To Exclude From View":
Quote:
Here you can select any number of forums to exclude from the forums list, from "get new" search and from "get daily" search.

To select multiple forums, press and hold CTRL key while clicking on the forum titles. To clear exclusion, select "Reset Exclusion" without holding CTRL key.
I don't think I've ever tried that feature myself so I can't be sure, but it's supposed to keep the forums that you select from showing up for you in at least some places. Let us know if it does what you wanted.

Incidentally, there's no rule against reading in any forum that's visible to you. Any restrictions are only on where you may post.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
