Whenever someone sends me a PM, or when I turn on the computer and come over to PC, I get a pop-up notice asking if I want to go directly to that PM. Very unfortunately, and for computer reasons I do not understand at all, that pop-up causes the erasure of any post I'm still working on. It just happened again, and I'd been working on that post for half an hour.

Is there any way to turn off the PC pop-up feature? It's really entirely unnecessary. I and everyone else will see the notification of a PM when we get to our profile pages. The PM will be read and answered in plenty of time. But the erased post will have to be restarted from the very beginning, often a really hard task. And terribly discouraging.

I'd most appreciate any help that can be given on this score. Take care!

It's one of the options you control from your Edit Options page:

Private Messaging

If you are browsing the forums when you receive a new private message, the system can pop-up a notification box informing you of the new message.

[ ] Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up

As for your post disappearing, I don't know what browser you're using, but see if this helps at all.
