I have just spent the last half hour trying to block some forums but I can't do it
 I done the hold CTRL button but the forums are still showing lol.What am I doing wrong?

There is a thread further down called "Blocking Forums Question" (I can't post a link because I am posting from my phone). This addresses your issue and may answer your question.

Did you scroll all the way down and press 'save'. I know at this time PC can't block some of the social groups but the forum blocks do work. Scroll down and press save...try signing out and then signing back in.
