Are the BB codes for this forum the same as most forums I have been on? For example:
bold text: [b][/b]
Underlined text: [u][/u]?
And is there a BB code to start a new line or can I just use the shift button? Thanks.

Yes, the BB codes here seem to be the same as everywhere else I've seen them used. Here's the list of BB codes used here.

There's no BB code equivalent to the HTML <br> tag and you don't need one.
Just
hit
Enter
to start a new line.

I "grew up" on HTML and only learned BB code here. The three features I found most helpful were the Standard (not WYSIWYG) editor that shows the actual tags being used, the Preview button that shows me what my tags will do, and the Reply with Quote button that lets me see what tags someone else used to produce a particular result.

If you use the Quick Reply box, you'll need to click "Go Advanced" under the box to see a preview.

You can select the editor you want to use from Your Control Panel > Edit Options. Scroll down to Miscellaneous Options > Message Editor Interface.

Thanks Fooze. I started to try and learn html from w3schools.org which is pretty good but the way they explain stuff is sometimes confusing :-)

I'm afraid I don't know anything about the mobile interface, though other members who use it say they get fewer features with it. What you're describing sounds like the "Report" button (the BB codes, need help please. icon at the left of every post in the full-size interfaces).

I don't see any trigger though, prehaps it's because i'm on my mobile?
That could be the reason, though as I said, I don't know. On the full-size interface that I use, if you don't see the Post Icons collection right below the text editor box, all you have to do is click the "Go Advanced" button to make it show up.

Yes it is the report feature.. there aren't many features on the mobile interface but i'll hopefully be getting a laptop in the near future.
Thanks for this!

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
