This has been happening off and on for a couple of days. I don't know if the games I'm playing is doing this or not. Even my envelope, when I get a PM, doesn't "blink".

Any thoughts?

Are you playing your games only with firefox, also? IDK but obviously your settings for viewing were changed... and you need to search out where that setting is that changed... (not sure you want a feverish member to be advising you No animation here )

OK. I shut down and it's fine. It's done it now for two days in a row...no animation, then no mozilla at all after playing games.

I tried doing "clean up" but that didn't help. I have to shut completely down. The games aren't worth it...LOL.

I use Firefox and have the same problem. I don't play computer games, but if I have had many applications open since my last reboot, then the first thing to go is the blinking envelope icon (in case anyone wonders why it sometimes takes me a while to open their PMs even though I'm online). I rarely reboot my computer, so this happens often.

There is a couple of things that may be causing this KD

make sure you have the latest version of FF. Clear cache and cookies

(tools, options, privacy)

may want to redownload java plugins and flash plugins.

What games are you playing?

I was playing yahoo games. I think I've figured it out. Mozilla doesn't let me play pogo games, but for some reason it will yahoo...however, with a cost.

If I remember to enter all games through IE, I'm fine it seems. It's definitely something to do with java and mozilla. for instance, i couldn't even view a video at yahoo, in mozilla. i opened up IE, and no problem!

thanks so much!

Animation can be hindered also, I think, by choosing a lower quality of graphics for your computer pages. They load faster with a lesser quality... when I want full quality (animation too) I right click and "Refresh page with full quality."

Wow! I am just learning so much! thank you everyone. No animation here

It definitely was the yahoo games. I've not had a problem since.

I need to remember to play games via IE. It might be in my mozilla settings, but I don't know where. No animation here

on the flip side, you can always download it, save the smileys you want, and then get rid of it.

Not tryin to be a downer, but that program makes me a little nervous.
