Hi admins,
I have an idea.
See I am suffering severely from loneliness and I know that others are too. So I was thinking that maybe you could have a section where as the creator of this forum could come up with a chatbot (AI = artifical intelligance) where members here can chat with. I know it is not human but maybe the funny answers and helpful answers that the chatbot comes with might brighten someone's day, you know get their mind off of their troubles for a while.
What would happen is a member here would start their own thread. Let me give an example:

Thread Title: Hello Chatbot Ready for a Chat

Post from Member: I am feeling very depressed today....
post from Chatbot [chatbot's name here]: [text that the creator of this site would have the chatbot say].

Hopefully you see the idea of what I am suggesting here. Then the member can always go back to that thread that they started and pick up where he or she left off.
Oh I hope that you can make a section for a Chatbot. IF NOT do you know anysite that has a forum where they have a chatbot like this. I can't download one, not enough RAM.

Anyway, thank you in advance for your kind answers.
Thanks for this!

Thanks for the suggestion.

Since there are already dozens of such chatbots available online (and we have no special background in the field of real AI, which is quite complicated and difficult), we feel this wouldn't really add anything special to our community -- which is really focused on person-to-person interactions.

Type in "chatbot" into Google to talk to any of those hundreds of bots. Here's a classic:

LOL. She was no help if I really needed her. Fun to play with though.

thats something I have never heard of before, and it's a good idea.

I would hope, however, that the PsychCentral community would chat with you, human to human.
I realize we are all busy, and often too overwhelmed with our own needs, but usually, someone alive is around to listen.
Thanks for this!
