I noticed that under "THANKS" is has links for
Find all thanked posts by BatsAndButterflies Find all posts thanked by BatsAndButterflies But under "HUGS" is has links for... Find all posts with hugs by BatsAndButterflies Find all posts with hugs by BatsAndButterflies The same thing twice? hurm? Should one say "Find all hugged posts by BatsAndButterflies" or "Find all posts hugged by BatsAndButterflies?"

The URLs are different for the two options though. They mention groans given or received, not hugs!

Just noticed it and wondered if it was on purpose... just thought there would usually be some way to differentiate?

Im guessing the reason the two links are worded the same is because there are two ways you can "hug" the same post...you can click the word "hug" and your hug will appear ****underneath**** the post the post/poster you are "hugging" and the send way to "hug" a person is to make a reply post and actually write the wird "hug" or place the persons name in a set of brackets like so (((((name of person being hugged))))) which is internet version of giving a hug.
one link designates the hug ****underneath**** the post one link designated the hug in a written post.. they are both the same post being hugged. thats my guess anyway. |

I doubt if writing hugs in a post gets counted in the (I assume automated) hugs count.
The Thanks accounting is not the same as the Hugs accounting; it has different messages for Thanks given and Thanks received. Seems to me so should Hugs.

I think one would be thanking someone for a particular post but hugging a person, not the post :-) So, the post would not be "hugged" but have a hug (for the poster) attached to it but the sentiment in the post would be like/agreed with and one would be thanked for that sentiment, not for themselves. It looks like a grammatical/usage thing versus people situation?

One should be the hugs you have given, one should be hugs you have received.
You are absolutely correct, there is an error there. ![]() |
