my understanding is that where numbers have been not allowed on here is because posting numbers can cause others more harm...
example I have an eating disorder. my eating disorder had to do with my weight. on a normal basis now I dont think as much about my weight but sometimes I do and if Im not careful I can slip back into thinking Im too fat and start researching what everyone else my age and height weights or think I need to be a different weight.. now say I was in that active phase where my eating disorder was telling me I was too fat and I come on here and read someone else was this number on the scales... my head would immediately start thinking things like... see that ...members name.... is skinnier than you, she knows how to manage her weight better, you need to get rid of all that blubber and fast, go weight myself and see where I am compared to ....members name... I weight myself and panic Oh my gosh I have gained too much, my doctors dont know squat Ive got to lose this weight, look at myself, see all the fat there and there and there, I better skip lunch today and for dinner I'll just have a salad no dressing... weight myself after dinner and my weight hasnt changed oh crap I've got to get rid of what I just ate and fast before it add more pounds, I've got to lose weight if ...members name ...can do it I can too, Ive got to get down there where she is and then lower cause she says that number is being fat.... the end result of reading that posted number has now sent me back into my full blown eating disorder again... not everyone goes through this kind of thinking pattern but many people with weight problems, OCD or other mental disorders do go into this kind of obsessive thought process around numbers, it could be about weight, or any other number reference... this is a mental health website so its most likely geared for not causing members more harm than good. so there has to be rules and guidelines to prevent as much triggering of members mental disorders as possible and one way to do that is by limiting /not allowing discussions on topics like posting numbers, or most common triggering words, or topics that cause problems with people of mental disorders. |

Do I understood your question correctly? It sounds as if you're asking about this part of our Community Guidelines:
