My desktop computer recognizes my PC name and then puts in my password, so I can get on PC. But my laptop won't recognize my PC name, even though it indicates it knows my password. Alas, after two years I don't remember my password, so I can't go to another laptop we have. And I want to keep my name. Any ideas or suggestions?
I really need to stay in the back of the house with a laptop, since I'm having trouble getting around and the desktop computer is far away in the den. BTW, I had requested my password before, and I never heard anything back! ![]() |

If you are using Firefox, it has an option in Tools. Go to Tools>Options>Security>Saved Passwords.
Does that help?

It's an automated system when you ask to reset your password. Sometimes those emails are mistakenly marked as spam by your email program, so you have to double-check your spam folder after you've requested it.
You can also PM an admin to manually reset your password as well. DocJohn

The settings for your Internet browser on your desktop are set to remember passwords and usernames, whereas the settings for your Internet browser on your laptop are different. Each Internet browser allows you to save passwords, however, whether it will log in automatically to PC depends on the actual website. Assuming the URL you're using is http:// and not https:// , it should remember.
Alternatively, have your username and password e-mailed to you. Copy and paste into a MS Word, Notepad or another document of your choice so you can always look it up on your laptop when you want to log in. |
