I post the required posts eagerly anticipating the time I can go into chat and converse with a real person. I excitedly try to enter only to be told I don't have the required adobe flash whatever it is. Am I gutted ? Yes, totally gutted that I can't chat. Now what ?

Update your adobe flash, restart your computer after the update and try to enter chat again. I hope this helps!
Thanks for this!

Adobe Flash Player is a free program download that helps support many interactive services, including Chats. If you do not already have it on you computer, you may go here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/otherversions/
and download and install it. It is a safe and reliable program, but be sure to unclick any "offers" except automatic updates.

Hope to see you in the Chats soon~
Gus

Thank you for your reply. Can I do that when using my mobile. Having a sick laptop means I'm using my phone for the net etc. Will I be able to chat ? Thanks again. Ladyzero

Depends on what kind of mobile.

IPhones won't let you use flash, unfortunately.

Hi, thanks for reply. It's just a fairly new nokia, nothing grand. If I can download would it be expensive to use etc. I don't understand why so few use it. I'm getting tied in knots with messages and forums maybe best I stay away ha ha, techno is not my first language !

Don't know how it works on the different phones....some are able to use programs...other's not......it your phone doesn't allow the adobe flash to be downloaded to it....then you probably can't chat through your phone.

I definitely know the dead laptop situation.....mine died several years ago. Luckily I had a desk top that needed fixing....but it was still a computer....good enough for me.

I love techno.....but can't afford those fancy android phones that I'm wanting & can't afford the monthly payments for the services that give the phones free......so I sit here with my antique phone that I won't even go on the internet with. It's so old, it's dying.....but until it dies & I HAVE to get a new one.....I bide my time

Yes Eskie, dead laptop syndrome. Miss it, can't afford to repair it, it's been a while now I'm used to using my phone now. Don't know how I find out about the adobe thing, techno is not my first language. I am surprised how few people on here use chat, I would. Like now at 5.30 am I'd love to talk to SOMEONE, ANYONE. Loneliness is a terrible thing. Added to depression, well that feels too much !

As of last year, Adobe issued a statement saying they were no longer going to continue developing Flash for mobile devices, however, it may still be further developed by other individuals. The reason for this has to do with HTML5 (mostly functional, not fully functional yet though). Bottom line is, you may be able to access chat from your Nokia phone if your phone supports a Flash plug-in you can download and the necessary version of Flash for chat. PC's coding is a bit older in that it still uses HTML4 and supports older versions of IE, so it probably won't need a very new Flash version.

Many Nokia models support Flash, so chances are yours will as well.
