I think in general double posting is not allowed but I think there can be exceptions, I would suggest pm-ing one of the admin team with what you want to put elsewhere.

We don't have a hard and fast rule about never reposting the same thing, especially if it's on topic for more than one forum. Different members may see it in each place and of course, respond from different points of view.
Some other ways might be to post more than one version, with some parts the same and other parts customized for a particular forum; or to put the full version in Forum A, then refer to it briefly it in forums B and C with a link to your Forum A post. If someone were to post the same thing ten times, it would probably be redundant and/or off topic in at least some of the places where it was posted. We call that "flooding". |

When did the rule change FooZe? I was told some time ago that double posting is not allowed. Now you are telling me the rules have changed, that there is no hard and fast rule. That means I could have done some double posts and would have been within the rules.

I think, the rule is no double postings, but the exception to the rule is when it fits in two forums. (It's never allowed to repost in more than 2 different places)
Generally it would be better if you wait to see what kind of responses you'd get after posting the thread first in one section. (so choose the best one of the two), but its ok to re-post it in another section especially a few days later, and especially if you don't get a lot of responses and/or want a different perspective. As FooZe is saying, members can often get different types of support from different sections - I think that's why the rule changed/or the team allows a lot of exceptions. As always - if anyone's ever unsure you can always PM a moderator or two, especially one who moderates the section you're thinking of posting to =) Shattered - if you want advice about this specific post I would mind reading through it!

Our rules are listed in the Community Guidelines, and nowhere in those guidelines does it state that double postings are not allowed.
Common sense dictates you wouldn't want to post the same exact post in a half dozen forums, and we wouldn't allow that (sorry, we don't have a specific rule for that, like I said it's just common sense). Occasionally posting one thing in 2 different forums is allowed, but instead of just posting the same thing in 2 forums, I'd choose the forum I want to hold the primary conversation in. Then I would just provide a link to that post in the second forum where I thought people might have something to add, similar to: Quote:

Community Guidelines: Remember that these are Guidelines, not rules, so exceptions can and will be made from time to time for specific circumstances, as determined by the Community Support Team on a case-by-case basis. (Emphasis added)
