I know I am probably not supposed to ask, and please don't tell me off for doing so, but recently a member was banned from PC, and I have a question as to why this occurred. The reason I am asking is this member was the reason I came to PC in the first place, I was getting a huge amount of harassment on another site and they told me to come to this site where people are nicer. Plus I have received this person's email from another member so I could contact them, but, I am wondering if I should just, you know, not do so. If something has happened that I should steer clear of this person then I'd like to know. I noticed that a thread was closed recently on said member, seemingly because it was simply about them so I'm gathering this a big deal and if I should disassociate myself with them I'd like to know that. But I am also worried that asking now is going to get me in trouble (nooooo!). I'm not sure if a moderator or someone could please just clarify the situation to me in a PM? I know it's generally a private thing when this situation occurs, but I'm just extremely confused.

I'm sorry if I'm breaking any rules by asking (please don't tell me off!), but I hope you understand why I'm questioning the situation, and I'm not expecting a public answer, if I get one at all. I won't name the member but I'm sure you may know who I'm speaking of.

Thanks!

i have often wondered why some members seem to be driven off, and others are allowed what seems like misbehavior to me, to no end... however, admin never answers these questions, that i have seen... AND it's forbidden to discuss them~! i await to see what develops and thanks for daring to post publicly, Evening~

best wishes~
Gus

Yeah, I would like to know, too. Someone asked me for advice about being harassed, and then both they and the supposed harasser got banned. I have no way of contacting the person to talk to them nor they me. I never saw them do anything wrong, so I am puzzled. I suppose if they wanted to contact me they could start a new account, so I'll have to leave it at that.
Thanks for this!

I really in no way want to get in trouble or cause anything by asking. I hope I don't get told off. It's not my intention to be nosy, it's more because I have known this member since before I came to PC and since I can't see that they have posted anything wrong in threads, I'm a little worried that this person could be shady and I don't want to be in contact with them anymore if that's the case. I hope admins understand what I mean.

Since you have this members email - can you ask them what happened? Only problem with this is, you'll only get their view. I've given my email only 5 times and one time got very burned. This can happen anywhere so I'm not putting here down. Administration has to respect privacy.

As per our guidelines, we do not discuss administrative actions on the forums. If you have a query about a past member, please direct it in PM to one of the administrators. However, due to privacy reasons, we cannot be specific about why a member has left (either on their own accord or not). So you're not going to get a very specific answer. The reasons a member leaves can be complicated, especially if their membership has been terminated. We do not terminate memberships lightly, and such terminations require complete agreement among all the administrators here.

You're welcomed and encouraged to contact members, with their permission, outside of the community.

Thank you for your cooperation.
