I don't get the trigger thing after the obvious blatant talk of suicide, rape, and abuse? What are other examples of triggers. I see the icon, but don't get how the post is one...I want to make sure when to add the icon. I don't suppose somebody could give me a sort of list?

Am pretty sure theres no list...its different for everyone. I was really surprised, the other day I got really triggered by people talking about guns. Strange, didnt know why i got so angry at first.

I'm with Marlborochick on this. I don't think there is an official list. What triggers one person might not have any affect on another. I would add self-injury and any post with strong emotions to your list though. |

That's correct, there is no list. When talking about traumatic events, it's probably safe to err on the side of using the trigger icon. When in doubt, use it.

Will I be notified if a post I put up is not approved? It seems to me like it might be very easy to trigger someone without intending to and I don't want to cause any harm to anyone.

I don't think you'll get in any trouble or anything. I have seen some people's posts edited and the reason being "added trigger icon." One of my posts was edited but they didn't leave a why lol, so I don't even know what was changed - I assumed some kind of identifying information or something maybe.

Yes, this is not something you get into trouble for. All we do is edit the post and send you a PM letting you know why it was edited.
In fact, violating any community guideline doesn't get you "into trouble." We send you a PM to let you know why what you did was problematic, and help ensure it doesn't happen again. That's it. DocJohn PS - If it happens repeatedly, that's when things will start becoming problematic. We have limited resources here, so we have to be wise and aware of how we're expending them. If one member is taking up all of our resources, that's a good sign this community may not be a good fit for them (or us)... But that happens extremely rarely where a member doesn't find a way to ensure their behavior fits within our community guidelines.
