Is it permissible to copy parts of threads people have written?
At times what I have read here seems ripe for my further contemplations.
They are quite helpful when writing in my journal. It is understandable if it isn't.
I would only use this for my own personal journal entries. No names or harm intended.

Thanks
Jade

OOOO good question.... IDK.

A long time ago a very mentally unwell member created a blog and copied what others had said in posts and otherwise, complete with their names and it was a HUGE bruhaha and rightfully so... of course why that person did that was also part of the problem.

I would think that if you PMd a member and asked and received permission, then it would be okay...but that's just my POV.

Seems the guidelines don't prohibit you writing or quoting things in your journal -- nor could they, I suppose. (Presuming it is not a public journal hosted on a website.)

Our rule is that you do not take any of the postings here without first getting consent from the author.

However, if you keep a private journal and since it's private, nobody will ever know if you copy and paste things into it. If it helps with understanding yourself better, I might do whatever helps.

Under no circumstances can someone copy and paste things from here into another public website, blog, or other public forum without first getting the author's permission.

Thanks for your cooperation,
DocJohn

Thank you all for the replies. This is only for my personal private journal, which is pen, paper, not computer at all. Personal use only. I do understand and appreciate the anonymity of others and respect all rights of privacy of personal information. I can only say here, for myself, that I would never breech this trust. But, that said, I understand this is the internet and all that goes with it.

Thank you for your replies. I will PM the authors and ask permission with respect.

Jade
