I was wondering if there is some official criteria for when to use the "trigger" icon on a post. One of my posts was edited by a moderator to include one and I'd just like to know what the criteria is in the future... is it for anything involving intense emotions? Which emotions? Mention of Self-harm? Particular kinds of issues (ie. sexual abuse)? All of the above?

It's a good question. I don't think there is an official list but maybe pc should post a guideline?

It's over used. It's an insult to those with real traumatic histories.

Not trying to start an argument here but everyone's experience is real to them who are we to say they don't see it as traumatic?

I often use the trigger icon "just in case" cause many people are triggered by "random" (for me) stuff. Better safe then sorry.

It's not meant to insult anyone. It's meant to warn members that what a member is discussing may be triggering to someone. It's better to be safe than sorry and it's better to be considerate of other members since that is what PC is all about.
