Recently I took my computer to a technician for a service. When I got my computer back I found that some of my applications were gone and avast was installed. I thought things were going well so I paid for avast the premium version and that then installed Google Chrome as avast runs from that browser.

Now i cant play farmville2 in FB. I cant get ride of google chrome. I have pop up screens. I have space ships on my screen. Grrrr. Any thoughts?

i have never heard of those problems being associated with Chrome, which is what i use. i don't know much about Avast, but surely you can open Settings and Tools, and see if there is an obvious fix, like Don't Set Cookies.... or i get to bold as to open the Control Panel and delete stuff i don't like ~!

hope someone knows how to help~

I have the free version of avast and when I installed it, there was the option whether to have Chrome or not. It works with any browser as far as I know. I don't know what the spaceships are.

I always delete cookies. I have been using waterfox. My brother who usually updates my computer and checks on things for me doesnt like google chrome but I don't know why. The free version of avast didnt seem to bother my games.

Now my computer is just really messy. And I am so angry at myself for installing avast premium. The more I tried to fix it the worse it gets. My brother wont be happy with me and will want to rebuild this computer and my desktop. And I just dont know how to fix computers. I am great it seems at complicating things.

I have tried to play other games in fb and the computer has a wobbly. The reason I took the laptop to the computer people was because I got scammed by con artist who hijacked my computer. Not having a good run.

Remove both through your OS control panel or using Revo uninstaller if they are persistent. You can reinstall Chrome if you really like it. Any free AV program will work fine or you can keep your Avast. Run Malawarebites to get rid of unwanted adware or malware. After that all should be fine.
Anytime you install new programs use custom install, especially if you DL the prog from CNET. A lot of progs come bundled with toolbars and other adware that will be installed if you use the express/easy install. CNET bundles every free prog with things you may not want. You can uncheck the bundled crap when you do a custom install and the custom install is not difficult at all. It frequently just entails unchecking toolbars and adware installation that is bundled with the prog.

I have Win7 Pro. For me it's Start>Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Programs and Features. That window gives a list of installed programs which you can remove.
Revo can usually uninstall anything so I don't understand what happened with that.

I find Google Chrome the most unfriendly browser. Luckily my avast free version works well in firefox.

Free avast was fine. Premier Avast runs on Google Chrome so the two systems are locked together. I tried removing google Chrome via Revo but no success. I am already so sick of it that I dont care about paying for Avast I just want it gone. I need to some how not spend so much time on the computer. So I have now got a couple of books to read for starters.........

My brother explained to me that OS means operating system. He has very kindly offered to fix things for me and reinstall things that the computer technicians took out. Then we will back up the whole system should I ever find myself up the creek again.

Wish me luck................ haha

My brother spent hours this afternoon rejigging my lap top at his place. Tomorrow he will be around here to update my Desk top that has been languishing for two years in my spare room. He just wants to update in in case anything happens to my lap top.

Now I need to get used to some new apps. Why can't the computer world leave things alone so programs etc don't change? Just joking.
