I am curious about something .....

Please know that this is simply a curiosity question ------------------- I have NO desire to delve into deleted posts.

I recently posted something and fairly soon after, changed my mind about what I posted - subsequently deleting my post.

It vanished.

Gone.

I have noticed many other posts stating **DELETED** either in subject heading or in the post itself.

Is this by choice?

I reiterate - I chose to delete my post and was happy to see it go - but wondered why other posts show deleted and mine didn't (thankfully) ?

If someone replies to your post before you delete it then it puts "deleted" on it and only erases your text.

If no one has replied then it just takes away the post alltogether.

Also some people after posting go back and edit by high lighting the text right clicking and selecting "cut" then type in the word "deleted" they also can on editing change the subject line to say "deleted"

the reason some people do this is many but for some its because upon editing they realize they are not comfortable with what they have typed or they don't have the words for what they are feeling so they type in deleted.

You may always ask a moderator of the forum to delete your **deleted** post window and subject line... esp if you began a thread and wish it to disappear...you own it. It's good if you do so early in the thread... or just go back in and talk about how you changed your mind **DELETED** posts

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
